$500 Tax Credit for Installing a Metal Roof

Act now to take advantage of the Federal Tax Credit of up to $500 for installing a qualified Metal roof.

Homeowners who make energy efficient updates to their home by installing an approved Energy StarĀ® labeled color, may be eligible for a tax credit worth 10% of the installation costs (Materials only), up to $500 per home. Metro now has a total of five (5) approved Energy Star® colors. They are: DRIFTWOOD-37, MISSION-GOLD-44, OAK-47, PEARL-WHITE-70 & ASPEN-71.

METRO COOL COLORS DEFINED:
Currently the only way a consumer can obtain a Tax Credit using a Metro roof is to select an approved Energy Star ® color — either DRIFTWOOD-37, MISSION-GOLD-44, OAK-47, PEARL-WHITE-70 or ASPEN-71. There are two (2) programs manufacturers produce to when offering a cool color to consumers. They are:

ENERGY STAR® Program (Federal program providing consumers with the ability to take a Tax Credit if an Energy Star® rated product is used for home energy efficiency improvements.) REQUIREMENTS: Roof products must have a Total Solar Reflectance (TSR) of 25% when new and a minimum TSR of 15% after aging for 3-years. Metro colors covered under this program are: DRIFTWOOD-37, MISSION-GOLD-44, OAK-47, PEARL-WHITE-70 & ASPEN-71.

TITLE-24 ENERGY CODE (California state supported TITLE-24 ENERGY CODE managed by the Cool Roof Ratings Council (CRRC) = No Federal Tax Credit but some municipalities may offer utility credits.) REQUIREMENTS: Roof products must have a Total Solar Reflectance (TSR) of 20% when new and a minimum TSR of 20% after aging for 3-years. Metro colors covered under this program are: DRIFTWOOD-37, MISSION-GOLD-43, OAK-47, PEARL-WHITE-70 & ASPEN-71.
